I am looking for some new Lunch Prayers or songs. I am trying to do one for each month and I've run out! With February right around the corner I'd love some help. If you have any lunch prayers or songs that you use I'd love to hear them and I'd be happy to share mine if anyone is interested. Thanks!
The one we used at the daycare I used to work at was:
hands in the air (raise hands in the air)
time for prayer (clasp hands together)
God our father (kids repeat)
Once again (kids repeat)
We will ask the blessing (kids repeat)
Amen (kids repeat)
It has a tune, but it's not the same as any other song so I can't really explain it. You could make up your own.
Tick tock hear the clock
What is that its saying
Time to fold our hands and pray
That is what its saying
God is great
God is good
Let us thank Him for our food
By his hands we must be fed
Give us Lord our daily bread
Amen
The Lord is good to me
And so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need
The sun, the rain and the apple tree
The Lord is good to me.
The first one is one we use with our preschoolers. :0)

Reason: for got a word
When my kids were younger, their pre-school snacktime prayer went like this:
Thank you, God, for food and care
Help us now to love and share
Amen
It was a little chant, but nice.
superman: (in this one, they raise arms like superman while singing it, and when they say Thank you God, hands are on hips like superman stance).
oh, thank you God for giving us food
thank you God for giving us friends
for the friends we meet
and the food we eat, thank you God
Amen
Johnny Appleseed:
Ohhhh, the Lord's been good to me
and so I thank the Lord
for giving me, the things I need
like the sun
and the rain
and the appleseed.
amen
God Our Father: (this sung to the tune of some song that has just escaped me).
God Our Father, God Our Father
we thank you
we thank you
for giving us this food today
for giving us this food today
ah-men, ah-men
I helped at a Bible school last summer and they LOVED the Jaws Prayer.
Place your hands above your head (hands together) like a shark.
Pulse the up and down to the theme from Jaws.... go back and forth between two notes...and then speed up...
God is Great
and God is Good
and so we thank Him
For our food...
Amen, amen, amen, amen
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-men (clap hands together like a shark bite)
To the tune of the Adam's Family Show Theme:
We thank you for our food, Lord,
For Moms and Dads, and Dudes, Lord,
We thank you for our food, Lord,
That gets us through the day!
AAAmen! (Click fingers twice)
AAAmen! (Click fingers twice)
AAAmen, AAAmen, AAAmen! (Click fingers twice)
A PP sent along the Johnny Appleseed song.
My class changes one line per month.
In Sept. and Oct. we sing
"the sun and the rain and the appleseed"
In Nov. we sang:
"The sun and the rain a big turkey"
In Dec. we sang:
"The sun and the rain and a Christmas tree"
In Jan. they thought of this one"
"the sun and the rain and a snow day, please!"
I can't wait to see what Feb. brings...
You can always sing
"God is great and
God is good and
we thank Him for our food.
We're gonna' thank Him the morning, noon, and night.
We're gonna' thank our God 'cause He's out-a-sight!
Amen! (chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi) Click fingers while chi chi...
Amen! (chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi) Click fingers again
Amen!
This is sung to Rock around the clock.
