Does anyone have any ideas for games that could be played via zoom? Looking for something new to do with family over winter break. We've done Scattegories and Yahtzee. There are only a few of us, so anything that requires teams doesn't work.

Could you do some form of Pictionary? One person draws and everyone else guesses. Whoever gets it first gets a point.

Jackbox games are fun. And I really like Among Us private game with friends.

Balderdash or Taboo could be converted to zoom game with some back channelling.

It means a bunch of different things, but in this case I'm using it to mean communicating with others in a medium other than the main communication.

So Taboo for example could have the taboo words shared with two people via text and the guesser hasn't seen them. Or everyone could send the Balderdash definitions to the person collecting them. And that's happening outside of the Zoom.

But now that I type it out, you could probably just set up chat privately on Zoom and do the same thing. I forget that's an option since I always turn it off for the students.

There’s an app called Psych! that everyone can download. You choose possible definitions of words and try to match and also psych the other players out with your choice.

This video has a bunch of family games for Zoom. The lady who makes these also has other videos, too, if you need more ideas. There are a couple of games that I'm going to use with my students during the week before Christmas break.
