my first gig i got was for a middle school PE class, and i didnt know what to wear! It totally caught me off guard. I looked online for some ideas, and it seemed like going with a polo would be best, but I don't own any polos. Lesson learned, I just went shopping for some PE appropriate clothes. I cant believe I completely forgot about that.

Walmart has nice Danskin pants and tops. I love subbing PE, good luck.

I usually avoid taking PE jobs ... what kinds of things do they have a sub do?

PE tends to be fairly easy in my district...

because all of the PE teachers have an aide. The aides are very helpful and know exactly how to run the class and what to do, so I end up being more of the aide's assistant.

well it was only the 2nd day of classes. i took roll, then had them sit and wait for another teacher to come and take them to get their ID picture taken.

Im very adamant about the whole "educator, not babysitter" thing. But getting paid $115 to sit and watch some kids and make sure they stay out of trouble? Works for me :P

I think our PE teachers have to have an aide - not sure if it's law or district policy, due to class sizes.

I never got an aide. Usually, for high schools, it's about 38-39 kids.

No aides in our PE classes. However, the bigger schools have double class size so there are two teachers. Sometimes you work together and othertime you go in your own areas and do your own thing.

PE usually gives you a plan like any other class. Check for a plan - if there is none be sure to get custodian to open supply closet if you don't have the key so you will have supplies.
