Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello!
We just implemented Skyward and no one really understands how to work it. Can someone explain to me how to move a withdrawn student off of my student list so that they don't keep printing?

Grrr...Really wish we'd had training before the year started!

Thanks for any help you can offer! :-)

We have used Skyward for years. It's not user friendly at all, and I'm still learning about it. In our school, the secretary has the ability to add and delete students. Teachers can't do it.

In my district, teachers do not have the ability to delete or add students.

The office or district computer techs are the only ones that can do that.

Removal of a student through Skyward has to be done administratively...our school secretary handles it.

Yes only those with admin privileges can deleted students. In fact, your school should have deleted these students when they moved to another class or were no longer registered with your district.

Do you also do attendance through skyward? That would make it troublesome to know whether the student was present or not if they are physically in someone else's class.

Another important issue is that when you get a new student enrolled in your class, you need to click on the "new" and input the grades (however, it is required by your district). Last year I had an issue of receiving a student that changed from my 1st period to another teacher and then back to me in another class period. The other teacher only had the student a few days but since she didn't "click new" and add his grades, it was a nightmare to add his grades to my class gradebook. (And it was not her fault, because a few days is a short turnaround time in which to get the change made.) The district technology people had to work it out.
