Now that the weather here has finally gotten nice, DD (who was 2 in Feb.) wants to be outside all of the time. I love it, but we need some new stuff to keep her busy! She loves her water table, bubbles, chalk and kicking a ball. We have a balance bike but she's tiny and definitely not getting the hang of it yet.

What did your kiddos love at that age? We were considering a sandbox, Cozy Coupe or a bubble mower.

We got a plastic covered (good for keeping neighborhood cats away when not in use) sandbox for our son when he was 2. We have also used it as a wading pool at times. We still have it (dogs uses it for a pool when we have a stretch of very hot weather) and our son will turn 25 this summer!

Another great thing was a gift he got for his 2nd birthday. It was a little fire hydrant shaped toy that you could attach the outdoor hose to. It has a little hose on it (water came out slower than the real hose), and it would spray water from the top and spin. Big fun for several years.

Enjoy, it is a fun age!

Sandbox was a big hit with one of my kids. Make sure you can cover it or the neighborhood cats will use it as a huge litterbox. :-)

Cozy coupe was fun for one kid...somewhat. I found one at a garage sale, so I wasn't out much money when it didn't get used too much.

The lawn mower was definetly a favorite. They also loved anything bubbles. Heck, a stick was probably their favorite toy! Enjoy!

We got a microscooter and helmet at age 2 that the kids liked if you have a flat stretch for riding. Cozy Coupe was very popular too. And the covered sandbox!

Anything from Little Tykes quite frankly. I found a combination swing and slide for my Gs. Also, bubbles in any way, shape, or form.

He has a plastic ride on car he loves and a cozy coupe at home.

His favorite outside toy at my house? Sticks from the neighbors tree.

My parents got my DS a swing set when he was that age. He loved to swing and sometimes fell asleep while swinging

I second little tikes. Something no one has mentioned yet is their roller coaster. They have a small one for smaller kids and the extreme coaster for bigger kids. My kids and everyone that has played here has loved the coaster. We got the big one when our youngest was 18 months and she was able to ride it with our help. Just search for little tikes or step 2 coaster. Have fun, that is a fun age!

My kid played with a stick at 2 or so. I guess she was just easily amused and we lived in an apartment so....not much room for toys.

My granddaughter loves her water table,Step 2 ride on car, a box of organic dirt with cars and helping me cut food up for dinner. Anything that she can do with me is what she gravitates to.

When my kids were that age:

1. small pool - we put the Little Tykes plastic slide in it.

2. Sandbox with lots of toys

3. Small table (Little Tykes size) for tea parties and picnics

My kids and now 2 year old grandson love the sandbox.I recommend getting one with a cover and using cinnamon in the sand, it is a safe way to help with bugs. Grandson also loves the swing set and his cozy coupe.
