Two questions:

1.Where do you live?

2. When did you get off for Christmas break? It seems that you've headed back much earlier than most!

Enjoy the extra day off.

I live outside of DC in Virginia. We got out for break on Dec. 20 and went back yesterday! The consensus was that we should have had yesterday and today off anyway so most are loving the snow day today

We were supposed to go back yesterday but had a snow day yesterday and today. if it had been a regular school week, I think we would have just had a delay today. Going in for only one short day all week seemed pretty pointless.
Where in NH mhugs? I am in Keene. Only got about seven inches, bit roads were awfully greasy.

I live near Philadelphia. We went back yesterday and have off today.

I had so much fun yesterday because I thought we weren't going to be in today. We read a story, did some writing that went with the story, and made a craft. We also played a fun math game. It was at the perfect day!

I live in NY but right along the NJ border. I teach in NJ. (Though I am guessing my hometown is also off today; my son is in college this year, so I don't keep track of the local school calendar anymore)

For Christmas break, we had an early dismissal the Friday before Christmas and then went back yesterday. We are off today due to the snow (which, honestly, didn't add up to too much! We've definitely had worse storms. I think the real concern today is the frigid temps and potential icing on roads).

and we only get the week between Christmas and New Year's off generally. This year we were lucky...our last day of school was Dec. 20 (usually is the 23rd) because it fell on Friday and we always return the day after New Year's Day.

Snow Day Here

I live in northern NJ. We went back Thursday. Our break seemed very short, so this is a bonus. We worked the Monday of the week of Christmas till 1:00 and then we went back this Thursday with kids and were supposed to be in today, but the storm had other ideas. Loving it!

I live in NY but work in N.J. We taught on Monday, December 23 and went back yesterday, Jan. 2. It seemed like such a short break this year, but surprisingly, most of the kids showed up and didn't start vacations early. Yesterday, the kids worked really hard, but in every class, there was some hopeful chatter of a possible snow day today.

By 7:00 p.m. last night, the snow day was called. I'm sure the teachers were as happy as the kids were. (I know I was!) Three day weekends are great!

I was expecting today to be horrible, but the snow has stopped, the sun is out, the roads are being cleared. The wind is calm. Everything is clean, white, and peaceful. That just makes this snow day all the more wonderful.

The only downside is the freezing temperatures, but I am staying inside by the fireplace.
