I don't understand why people feel they need all of this and what they do with all of the space.

Well, I guess if you've got the money and can afford the people to care for it and maintain it, go for it. Even if I had a house that big though, I'd probably still just end up living in a few rooms, so the rest would just be a big energy waste for me.

If she and others can afford it, great. I'd personally be afraid to be in a home that huge, especially at night...way too many rooms.

I wish people like this would spread the wealth and give us "common folk" some money, ha! (I realize many contribute to organizations though.)

It looks more like a hotel than a house. Definitely not for me!

Maybe it's something I could share with other family or friends, and they'd each have their own wing. Otherwise, too much for me too. Although, I'd love to have the problem of deciding if I wanted it or not.

I think rather than a mansion I would prefer a regular sized house with a couple small guest cottages and a big clubhouse building (a big room with a big kitchen - preferably with a view and next to a swimming pool!) It would be cool to be able to entertain big, but still live normally the rest of the time.

I could handle MKat's resort, complete with the clubhouse. Put in on a mountain lake and I'd be happy.

Oprah's property includes that enormous mansion as well as another house, a few small buildings, and one or more swimming pools. It is too showy and large for me.

If I had the money I would buy a smaller house with a pool and great views of the ocean.
