Wordle Help

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I had planned to use Wordle for an end of the year project for my students, but can't get it to work at all. I did some digging and it doesn't look like this is a program that people are using currently.

Has anyone had recent success using Wordle or know of an alternative site to use.

I wanted to create memory prints for my students for the end of the year.

I see from posted comments that Wordle isn't friendly with Chrome and that reinstalling Java sometimes help. I think everything on my computer is up to date.

The only thing I've been able to do (inconsistently) is type words in a box. I can't find any way to actually create the word design.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can you use a different browser to use Wordle?

Here is a post with a number of Wordle alternatives.

If you want young students to do the creating, I recommend Word Cloud for Kids at ABCya. http://www.abcya.com/word_clouds.htm

I decided to try to use tagul.com.
I've got the words typed in, but don't see a way to save it. When I download, it shows the sample that was there when I got to the site.

I'm feeling very tech-ignorant!!

Maybe I will try to use the site you recommended for the kids.

btw--the article link is great! At least I see that there are lots of options. Surely, I'm smart enough to get one of them to work.

Okay-- "visualize" saves the work.
The huge button in the middle - duh!
Thank you for the tips. I see a light at the end of this project tunnel! Now to play with color . . .
