My school is hosting a math fair next month instead of a science fair. We are to complete a math fair project with our classes. Any ideas for a math project that I can do with my first graders?

I'm not really sure what a math project would look like...but this is the first thing that popped in my head. I may be waaaaaay off base, and if so, i'm sorry.

anyway, at first grade odd/even is always a fun concept...what if your class explored addition and subtraction facts for odd and even numbers. What I am trying to get at (not very well, lol) is that odd plus odd = even; even + even = even; odd + even = even. Do the same with subtraction. Maybe if you could get them to figure that out then they could all help illustrate that.

Other ideas might be symmetry or tessallations???
