I think most people use power point. I use word, because that's what I know!

I agree that powerpoint seems to be the choice of many and I am so embarrassed to admit that I have no idea how to create a whole document (such as a middle school worksheet) that way. I use trusty 'ol Word and convert to PDF. Whatever you use, it must be secured. There are lots of Forum posts about publishing programs as well as preserving your format and securing it from buyer changes--even if you do want it to be editable

I started out using Word, but I then switched to Power Point. PPT is so much easier.
