Apparently the LED lightbulbs for can lighting must specify "for dimmer switches".
Good news: I didn't buy enough to replace all 8 fixtures.
Bad news: I wasted $10.

Yesterday we spent quite a bit of time purchasing light bulbs for specific fixtures. We took the burned-out bulbs we needed with us so we would get the correct bulbs. We searched through hundreds of bulbs with a myriad of labels. So confusing!

I understand that you could easily purchase a bulb that wasn't exactly what you needed.

*One thing I hated to do was to pay big bucks for bulbs that would outlast me!

I know the store owners would have taken them back but I had already thrown out the packaging. I went back and bought the old style ones.

I have slowly replaced most of the bulbs to the high efficiency ones...so I guess I need to buy one expensive one per month to do them same for the basement ceiling lights. Who knew I needed a lightbulb installment plan!
