Does anyone here have experience with student loans that arenít through FAFSA/government? I am a certified elementary ed teacher trying to get my sped certification. I only need 8 classes(24 credits). Most degree programs have more credits and I donít want to spend money if itís not necessary. You donít qualify for FAFSA unless youíre in a degree program so Iím looking for alternatives. I have heard of Discover Student Loans, but no others. Have any of you taken out these types of loans before? Thanks for any help!

for my MA, but they were not enough.
So I took a loan out from Wells Fargo too. I know they have not been known as a stellar bank, but gave me the $ I needed.
Do you use a credit union? I remember getting a loan from 1 yrs ago too.

Honestly, there are so many shady loan companies out there that you would probably have better luck and get a better interest rate just taking out a small loan from your bank...

It was just the only options I could think of....and ended up in debt to my eyeballs! I wouldn't advise that to anyone!

Have you ever heard of the organization P.E.O.? They offer grad school loans up to $20,000 at 2% interest. You need to have 2 Co signers. It is called the ELF loan. You can find out more about the loan on the P.E.O. website. They also offer grants to women returning to school after a 7 year absence of $2,500.
