Hello Ontario teachers. Has anyone every taught this combination now that full day kindergarten is here?
Our ELP classes are combined JK/SK. The overflow is mine. 12 Sk and 8 in gr. 1. Just looking for any suggestions or comments if you have done this before.
Thanks
Beaver

I only know of one school board that even creates this type of class (so I'm not sure if that's where you teach, just guessing ). I'm not sure how I would approach that, as FDK is play-based. I did go to some PD this past year about bringing that play-based approach into grade 1. Will you have the lower-level grade 1s?

Apparently I will be having the average independent workers in the grade 1. Wish me luck! By the way I work for the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

I'm not from Ontario but from BC. I have a feeling that I'll be teaching K/1 this year and I found this wonderful power point online: http://web.uvic.ca/~reach/documents/...noUVIC0710.pdf
