What is a good afterschool activity that you dont have to make a lot of preparations to do?
Any suggestions?

Okay I totally want to follow this because I'm thinking the same thing.
I know friends have done soccer programs and a drama program where the kids did like a reader's theater thing.

Reader theater is easy and fun if you give a few accessories to the kids : hats, gloves, ties, bags... You could even have them prepare a few things out of construction paper ( simple masks, ears etc...)

This coming year, I'll have a book group with 2nd graders. We'll read books together, vote on our favorite and prepare a poster to display in the library (with a caption stating that it's our weekly selection). Fun and not much to prepare - I know most of the books already
