I am moving from 1st grade to 2nd grade and I would love to hear some similarities & differences between the two grades that I should expect.
Thanks

I did that and never looked back. At the beginning of the year, firsties are still kinders. Their growth of the year is amazing, but it is a lot of work the first half. I found the curriculum to be all over the place. Lots of bits and pieces of material, but I had a hard time finding unifying themes. (That could just be me.)

Second graders are divine!! They know the routines of school. They are far less babies and much more like kids (people!). I loved the curriculum. Generally a lot of growth, but in smaller ways.

I taught kinder, 1st and 2nd. Kinder was my love until I started getting old and cranky. Second grade became my new favorite.
