I have been subbing as a TA, and am a little anxious about going solo. Any suggestions on how to handle it?

As I was told before my first assignment, "make them think you have been doing it for years". It seems to work, but then I have gray hair so they may already have assumed it...good luck and most important make it a fun experience!

I just started subbing about a month ago and like you I felt very nervous to sub. After I graduated college in '07, I taught Kindergarten. I wasn't worried about being in the classroom alone but I was just afraid to sub. However, I'm glad that I decided to give it a try because now I really enjoy the experience. I've been very fortunate and all of the classes have been very good and the teachers have left very good lesson plans! Best of luck to you
