Well, as seems to have become a holiday tradition, the local and best HS, that never posts for subs, has requested once again for me to come in the day before Thanksgiving. How do we ever get moved up on the preferred list, if we are only called in on days before holidays to show movies? Anyone else experience the same thing, no one wants to be a third string player forever

you basically have two choices:

a) show up and deal with the fact that that's how they run the system
b) decline the job and know that you are better than that....

A job is a job and I will go into tomorrow for a half day at a middle school where I haven't been all year. Nothing much is expected of us tomorrow. Just show up and keep the kids fairly calm.

tomorrow i'm doing a 1/2 day at the middle school where I've been all week. I get to cover classes and the circulation desk at the library.

You guys are lucky to be working today! I almost had a job but it was scooped up before I could hit 'accept' on my beloved AESOP. With the half day and the holiday, I think they discourage absences. Our flu epidemic seems to be have slowed, at least for now, so that isn't bombarding the computer with jobs for the taking any longer.

I hope to be busier next week after the holiday and up until Christmas. That's the way it's always been in the past, but this is our first year with AESOP so it's anybody's guess.
