I'll be taking over in a first grade classroom for a maternity leave. Any suggestions on what I can do with the class to acknowledge and celebrate the new baby once he/she has arrived? Thanks!

You could make a writing activity out of the occasion. They could learn parts of a letter & then each child could write a letter to the teacher and/or the baby You could also give them time to make a picture & then put all letters and pictures into a little book for the teacher
