I am looking to purchase chapter books for second grade. What are some of your students favorite chapter book series?

What are some of their favorite picture books?

Thanks!

Rainbow fairies
I survived series

I have about 30 magic treehouse books and they haven't been touched. Some said they read them last year and others just aren't interested. Maybe I'll have better luck with next years group.

I read The Classroom At the End of The Hall by Douglas Evans to my second graders and they loved it! I think it really inspires them to pick up a book and read for entertainment too!

Judy Moody Friends
It's written at a lower level than the Judy Moody books, which students love!

I taught second grade six years ago and still have all of my Magic Treehouse books. At that time, my students loved them. I will see how it goes with my new second graders next year. I have the I Survived series in my classroom now. I have a few 4th graders that like to read them.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I love Judy Moody books. I didn't know there were books written on a lower level. I will definitely be looking for them. I am hoping to find some other new series that I didn't have when I taught 2nd grade six years ago.

Thank you, cabernet!

Ready Freddy is a great series. Also My Weird School, magic Tree House. I have discovered that reading the first of a series starts my kids wanting to read the series. It's a good way to introduce new books to the kids.
