Does anyone have a favorite book or set of activity cards for mindfulness in the classroom? There are so many choices. I am hoping to teach mindfulness in my first-grade classroom next year. Thanks for your help!

We use this in our class. The book is relatively inexpensive and you can get a chime to go with it. They have resources online. It has been great for my students this year! I have also purchased and used Mind-up Curriculum (from the Goldie Hawn Foundation)

So great that you are going to incorporate this into your day--my students really look forward to this time.

Calm Classroom looks great! I teach first grade. Would you suggest the Pre-K/Kindergarten book or the Elementary/Middle School book? Thank you so much for your help!

I have the elementary book. But when we had a in-service, they used the pre-k book--it had some simple examples but my students did fine with the other book. They have a suggested group of lessons to start with, but then I just picked ones that I thought we needed. And they did fine. Lots of schools around us are using it!

I would have to break up a lesson over many days.
Hmm.

There is an online 3 hour training on the calm classroom website. $65 includes a manual and the training. How important is the training? Iím thinking itís probably worth the extra money.

Literally are about 5 minutes. They are very doable!

You know thatís a pretty good price. I was going to do it before our district bought us the books. You can do it without the training if you need to save money. Each lesson is scripted so you know exactly what to say. Iím sure you could do it with just the book if you wanted.
