Clip to ScrapBook #1

Sun was out this morning so we made the decision to leave town. We drove north and once we got to the White Mountains the leaves were beginning to show super color. We drove to Littleton had lunch in a small place that was #1 on Trip Advisor.
Chicken soup and ham/cheese sandwich was just perfect. Went across the street to the candy store https://www.chutters.com/. Sampled their fudge, bought my favorite licorice, and wax lips for the kids in Germany. We bought a bacon scented car freshener for grandson's car. He isn't a big candy kid.

Down the street is the Pollyanna statue http:///www.atlasobscura.com/places/pollyanna-statue. Did a fe stops in the White Mountains and just enjoyed fall in New Hampshire. Oh yes...met a visitor from England who has traveled on Narrowboats. My latest You Tube binge.

Sounds like fun! The first link did not work for me but I found the store easily enough. How tempting! Yum! So glad you and your husband had an enjoyable lunch out.

Nice! I havenít been up to Littleton in ages...maybe a road trip is in order.

Nothing like being a tourist in oneís own back yard. So many nice places to go in NH...

I visited the White Mountains in foliage season once. Best colors I have ever seen. The fall colors in NJ and the Catskills where I was last weekend have not been the best. Muted colors and dry leaves. Sounds like you had the perfect day!

What a great day you had! I, too, love the spontaneous choices available thanks to the freedom of retirement.

This is what is best about retirement - your time is your own! Sounds like you had a wonderful day.

Glad you had a great day. The Fall is so wonderful in retirement.

Don't let YouTube be your binge. You can rent a narrowboat and have a great adventure. My son and 3 friends did it. He said driving the boat was easy. (They give you a lesson when you pick up the boat.) They had a wonderful week exploring the small villages along the canal.

I would love to do a narrowboat through the UK.
One of my guilty pleasures has been binge watching Kevin travel the countryside. Looks so peaceful!
