credit card hacked?

For the first time, I think my cc information was stolen. I noticed some charges I never made. What all do I need to do? This has never happened. Is disputing the charge enough or do I need a new cc number?

Call your cc company and dispute the charges. Then have them cancel and issue new card since you think your number might be compromised. Better safe than sorry adn I am sure your cc company would suggest it.

If you havenít already, call the number on your credit card to make a report now. Theyíll close it and reissue another number. I believe legally weíre liable for up to $50 but Iíve never had to pay at all when itís happened. Theyíll send your new card out immediately. Then the fun begins if you have that card used to any auto payments.

Call credit card company ASAP. They are opened 24/7. They can track all you recent purchases. If itís not something you bought, then ask to change the card.

This has happened to me several times with my Chase card (my co worker says this happens almost every year to her husband who has the same card). Both times I called immediately when I noticed and they handled it. They sent me a new card (with a new number--which is a pain but oh well) and credited the money to my account. Knock on wood it has not happened in almost two years.
