Picking up groceries curbside

There are NO cantaloupe, no bag of mandarin oranges, milk, yeast, zucchini, toilet paper, walnuts, spinach and Lo Mein noodles.

I was able to get one bottle of hand sanitizer.

We will manage with what we have. What have you been unable to purchase that you wanted to buy?

DH is a grocery store manager, so he has been shopping on his breaks as things get put out.

- Ground turkey especially organic, which I like to have on hand as often as possible

- TP and PT of course only because everyone else bought it all up. (Not for me to hoard myself.)

Rice

And oatmeal, but only because H insisted on the store brand because it's cheaper and they were out of that.

Just got a long list of out of stock items and substituted items...still wondering how dried cranberries is equivalent to dried mangoes Oh well- first world problems, I guess!
I wasn't able to get:
ground chicken
Dried Mango
Bubly water
Chocolate milk (DD home from college)
tomatoes
jalapeno peppers
tomato sauce
hamburger buns
My favorite Haagen Daz ice cream
Pico de Gallo

I know these are very specific...hoping to try out a few new recipes!

Tomato sauce and green peppers. And I ended up with an apple soda sub for my ginger ale. 😀

I tried to get the scallion pancakes at Trader Joes, but their whole frozen section was empty! This was last Friday. I haven't been back.

But really, we have tons of food and everything is fine.

I wonít know until Friday when my mom goes to pick up our order. I hope we get most of what we asked for.

Maybe since we have to wait until Friday, our order will be filled a bit at a time all week. I can dream...

Hannaford To Go

The Hannaford To Go has shut down the service at my local store. I had put in an order to pick up tomorrow. Going to be tough on elderly and others who are trying to stay put out of harms way.

I live in a small town and our Safeway is incredibly well-stocked! I wasn't able to get milk yesterday, but was able to get it today.

Other than that, I have been able to get everything I need, plus more!

Walking into my Safeway makes my heart smile and reassures me that it's not all bad!

TP is a no brainer. Haven't been able to get that at all, but I think that's a given everywhere, unfortunately.

Most everything I requested at Costco yesterday (I used Instacart to have it delivered) was in stock. The two biggies that I wish I had were the big pack of chicken breasts and ground beef. I like to cook, shred, and freeze the chicken to have on hand. I ran out of my last batch last month and hadn't had a chance to restock. The other one was their hard boiled eggs that DH and I like to snack on. Hoping they'll restock soon. I may take a look this evening.

Now I'm looking for stuff to make me happy - like strawberries and whip cream for waffles, and baking stuff.

I got strawberries and bananas today, but no bread! Most of the eggs were gone, but I got a dozen. Hopefully they will restock tonight. My store had plenty of chicken, but very little pork.

Been looking for chicken stock or bouillon to make stock, bread, rice, and yeast. Any ideas on where to find rice? There aren't any delivery times available from Costco for this week. We have found water, ground beef, last head of lettuce, milk and eggs. It has taken a few trips by DH. But all in all, we're blessed.

They couldnít fill:
Broccoli
Eggs
409
Hawaiian rolls

Iím glad I got fresh organic greens. I will use Model bakery English muffins for my tri tip sliders. I do love the Hawaiian rolls for them though. I got the coleslaw mix so tri tip on muffins with coleslaw it is!

my order had changed from what it said online.

No hand sanitizer.

No bread.

No yeast for making bread.

But I did get my oranges and cantaloupe.

We have some hamburger buns for now. We will make do.

Just need distilled water for my husband's c- pap machine in the next couple of days. Hoping we find it.

We went Friday night, and the only thing we couldnít find was pizza sauce. However, I bought tomato sauce and will make my own.

We usually shop 4 to 6 weeks at a time, so it wasnít bad for us. I know one of my neighbors posted on FB that she bought groceries for a Week, but she didnít think she had stuff for any actual meals. Sheís really young, though. Maybe she doesnít get meal planning.
