My parents kill me

My mom got a new car a few months ago and I was going to help with the tech, but had to cancel my trip so we tried to do it using FaceTime. First, I’m motion sick from the phone moving, falling, etc.

We got almost nothing accomplished because I need to see and touch and I couldn’t, plus, my parents...

Then my dad wanted to see if the front end collision worked by TESTING IT OUT!!! He kills me.

I hope I can get there soon or they’re going to blow up the car (and I miss them).

My mom decided she was going to finally get on facebook. Right now. While we are in shelter in place and nobody can help her. She asks me a million questions over the phone, and just CANNOT seem to conceptualize some of the things I am telling her.

No matter how many times i explain it she cannot understand what people can see and what they can't and who can see what and why. Send help.

My dad, who is also a teacher decided to call and brag about how great he's doing with online teaching. He, the least tech savvy person ever. So I ask what he's doing. He's calling his kids on the phone and telling them to check their email where he has sent assignments.

Not with family, but I have been having the same experience trying to get my first graders and their ELL parents online.

Haley, that might be funniest thing I've ever heard. That's hysterical.

Maybe y'all should set up Google Meet with your parents so that you can include Screencastify directions with videos. Heck, you're getting practice with that with your students!

Really, I completely understand the frustrations.
