Piggyback from another career/job

I don't want another career. I am tired of being responsible and in charge of stuff...especially stuff over which I have no control.

I would love to learn some new things. If I could afford it, I would go back to school and get several new degrees, completely unrelated to the chemistry and civil engineering ones I have now.

Maybe ethnobotany? or linguistics? or American history?

What would you like to study if you could just follow your heart (and mind)?

Archaeology and history, which I love to learn about. But at this point I just like the learning and I would not want to have to write papers or take tests. I just read, read, read!

A college is building a satellite campus about 7 miles from me. Iím very excited and hope C-19 doesnít delay it too long.

Iím in agreement with annie_g- no tests or papers,. I just want to enjoy the learning and the class discussion with my professor and fellow students.

Courses I would take- anthropology, Middle Eastern studies, world history, and political science.

What to Study

I take classes at a lifelong learning institute and love them. There is no homework and no exams, and we are there purely to learn new things.

This semester I'm taking classes in criminal justice, current events, film, and music history. They are offering them via Zoom now, thank goodness. I love the intellectual stimulation and have met some nice people. I have found my retirement niche.

I love learning new things. Our local university offers communiversity classes that I enjoy, but when I reach a certain age I can audit the university classes for free. I would enjoy it.
