I found a HUGE ham on sale and it's in the oven right now.

We'll have it tonight with scalloped potatoes and broccoli. I'll make some potato corn chowder with it. But what else can I make?

I don't know how to post links, but on Pinterest I found a delicious recipe using a meaty ham bone and lentils and split peas for the crock pot. There is also a white beam ham soup for the crock pot that is yummy.

My mom always made ham salad sandwiches. Ground the ham, mayonnaise, pickle relish- no exact amounts

I add chopped ham to macaroni and cheese or scalloped potatoes.

My mom made ham, green beans, and potatoes in a soup. It was delicious. Served with crusty bread or rolls.

I put it in soup, eggs, etc. like mentioned above, but my honest favorite is in a chicken rice casserole, chicken cordon bleu style. One of my sons always requests it when he comes to visit - a total comfort food.

cooked rice, chopped cooked chicken, chopped cooked ham, shredded swiss cheese, sauce made from cr of chick soup with added sour cream, a little mayo, some lemon juice, some white wine, etc. (It needs those add ins to have a little tang to the sauce) Mix it all together and bake for a pan full of church potluck style goodness!

For a yummy pasta dish make a basic white sauce, about 2 cups, then add diced ham, about 1/2 cup of sour cream, and 1/2 cup Parmesan. Sometimes I throw in some spinach too. Mix with cooked pasta. I have not made this for years since some in my family watch carbs, so measurements are from memory.

I like to cut up potatoes and fry them with some onion, then add ham - easy ham hash.

Quiche Lorraine
Old 04-06-2020, 02:26 PM

Quiche Lorraine
1 9-inch pie shell (in the refrigerator section)
1 1 cups grated Swiss cheese
6 eggs (in the refrigerator)
1 cups heavy cream
(Salt, pepper, and nutmeg are in the top cabinet to the right of the stove.)
teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons butter (in the refrigerator)
8 slices of bacon, cut up, fried, and drained on paper toweling or
diced ham
green pepper, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, diced
cup onion, diced

1. Place the pie shell in the pie plate and let it warm a little bit so it is easier to press into pie plate and crimp edges.
2. Sprinkle the pie shell with half the cheese.
3. Sprinkle green pepper, mushrooms, onion, and bacon/ham on top of cheese.
4. In a bowl, beat eggs and cream. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir. Pour into pie shell.
5. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
6. Cut butter into small dots and distribute over the top.
7. Bake at 375 for 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. The middle should not wiggle. Allow to stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
