GTY- anyone else

Alright, I have to confess- for the last 3 weeks I’ve been living in GTYs, otherwise known as Garments That Yield.

I think we owe it to one another to challenge each other to pour into those garments that don’t yield at least once a week to get a reality check.

I just tried on my favorite and they still fit, but boy, things can get out of control.

So how about it. Anyone else need to keep things in check by getting out of the comfy, cozies once in a while?

I love this term! I've gotten dressed in real clothes about once a week when I go run errands, or when I had a Zoom meeting. I have to actually 'go to work' tomorrow at my school to help pass out our next set of work packets, so I'll be wearing real jeans and shirt. Hope they still fit!

Living in sweats, yoga pants, or flannel pj’s for weeks. Yikes! I did throw on a pair of jeans yesterday and they were fine. Thank goodness....

GTY? So that's what I've been wearing all these years!

I only recently have gone back to jeans after decades of not even trying. These happen to be the stretchy kind and super comfortable.

Yes, I need to wear real clothes or I wouldn't get anything done! I make myself get up and shower each morning by 9:00. I put on jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt and my shoes. Since I'm not wearing lounge clothes I tend to not lounge as much. I'm back in lounge clothes at 5:00 but that would be typical of a normal work day before this all started anyway. I have not been wearing my contacts, putting on makeup and hair is in pulled up in bun. Its been weeks since I've used my blow dryer.

BTW - lounge clothes means leggings, sweatshirt and slippers.

I've been wearing yoga pants a fair amount. I do put on jeans every two or three days, however. It is easy to lose track of food intake when you have an elastic waist.

I wear jeans just in case on Mondays because I have IEP meetings (just in case I get up to get something during a "live" meeting or something like that). It is always good to check the real clothes! The other days I have taken to wearing leggings or even PJ pants with a real shirt while I make my instructional videos, since they can't see anything from the chest down anyway .

I "grazed" all day the first few days... partly from stress/emotional eating and partly from boredom and convenience...

I gained a few pounds right off. I am now turning it around but it is hard to stay motivated.

I will pledge to keep things in check...not so sure I can disavow the GTYs though...

I'm not trying to keep things in check, but I had to wear a real bra two days in a row and I was so sore after. The band that goes around to my back just fits and it is so uncomfortable under my breasts. I do think every day that I need to eat better than I do, but I don't.
