We aren't allowed to tutor after school, before school, or during the summer if parents are paying us.

Where do you tutor, if not your school? Mileage costs would add up for me if I had to drive to students' homes.

I tutored at my home, usually. Occasionally, I went to a child's home, but I charged more for my fee.

We don't have the not-at-school restriction during the school year.

I met the student at the local library. It worked perfectly.

Have you considered a coffee shop or book store?

1) I regularly tutor at home. It's perfect for me and we have an ideal setting. Besides, I hate having to go out.

2) I have also tutored students in my classroom, but it wasn't my favorite place.

3) This past year, I really wanted to help this one ELL student and my home was too far away. Instead, I suggested we meet at Starbuck's or another similar food eatery, which we did for a time. But, it was sometimes noisy, sometimes hard to find a booth, and I could tell the setting wasn't a comfortable place for the parents. Eventually we changed our schedule so we could meet at the library.

I usually tutor at a student's home, or if that's really inconvenient, the public library.

I'll have to ponder all of these suggestions. I like having materials at hand, thus my desire to do it at school. Guess if I really want to do it, I'll carry supplies with me.
