Regular composition books? They're all we use here, and they are generally on sale for $.50 during BTS sales.

I saw them at my Walmart. I looked at one and thought what a cool idea! Sorry, I didn't look at the price...I was picking up regular composition books.

Walmart or Target

Our Walmart and Target always have them. We added $8 onto our supply list to cover take home notebooks and these notebooks. At our Target they are $2.44 each. It's more expensive than the regular ones but I teach first grade and feel like they work so much better for our kids!! However, parents tend to just by the regular ones when we put it on our supply list so we were given permission to add the money so that we could get them ourselves.

We put them in our supply list and I always get a few for the students who don't get the right ones. I love them for first graders! It lasted the whole year, too. $2 something sounds right. Our Walmart never puts them out with school supply display, but back in the regular isle of school supplies.

Thanks everyone, we are not allowed to ask for money or supplies from the kids so I will make a trip to Walmart.

I read somewhere that they had composition books for 38 cents. I don't know if it was for primary ones.

Normally they're around $1.00. In the past I had gotten them on sale for .25 after school had started. To save money, they can be cut in half. My dad did mine-he used a band saw with a fence.

I just purchased a class set of wide ruled composition books from Walmart for 50 cents each. They had them in a variety of colors, but I tend to stick with the traditional black marble ones. I have found these hold up really well with my first grade students.
