upgrade to a king sized bed???

Do you have a king-sized bed? Does it make a huge difference in you and your bed mate's sleep?

We have a random opportunity to get a new mattress because ours mildewed (for no apparent reason) and we get to return it for a full refund. I'm thinking this is a great opportunity to spend just a little more and get a king. If it matters, I'm 5'10" and my husband is 6'2" so I know the length will be nice, and I expect we'll both have more room to roll over.

Have you ever regretted moving up to a king? Anything I'm forgetting to consider? (Other than we'll need new sheets, etc. There is enough room in our room, too.)
Thanks!

We have had a king

for years. We love it. The waterbed mattress we had before we got this one was a "California king" which was nearly the size of this one.
Be sure to get a mattress that you don't have to flip. Ours is the kind that needs to be flipped and it is a very tricky job since we are both less than 6 feet, there is a ceiling fan in the room and our bed frame is one of those that is high off the floor. Great for storage beneath the bed, but not so great for flipping the mattress.

We had a king bed given to us. It is one of the pillow top memory foam ones (something like that). We love it and in your case, I would spend the extra money and upgrade for the extra room. It is nice in the morning when I get out of bed I don't wake DH.

DH and I have always had a king. I couldn't imagine living with anything else. We spent two nights on a double bed last spring and I felt like we had to turn in tandem. We do ok on a queen, which is what is in the motorhome. But we will never go down. I guess I'm a space hog, I had a queen before we married.

We went from a Sealy pillow top to a tempupedic a few years ago. I love it.

Nope. I love our king bed

It's big. When I'm on my side it's like being in my own country. I have my country, she has hers. We respect the sanctity of the border though at times I do cross it in the interest of trade relations.

We had a queen bed for about 5 years, and then moved to a king. I can't imagine going back. I don't mind cuddle time, but when it is time for sleep get away from me! Like another poster said, DH doesn't wake me up when he gets out of bed in the morning.

I don't think you will regret it!

Go for the king! We've always had a king size but when we go on vacation there are rarely king sized beds in the rooms. And we sure do miss it!

We have a queen and I wish we had a king! I would love the extra space since we're both sprawlers when we sleep!

Love the king We both feel so much more rested, and it's because we have so much more room than in a queen. We also bought a Tempurpedic Mattress and Tempurpedic pillows It really does make a difference, so you should GO FOR IT!

And I am plus sized on top of that... We have a Cali-King as well. It is a little bit narrower and a bit longer than a standard King bed. We love it.

Like a PP mentioned, we also use a double or queen when travelling and it is so nice to come home and spread out again. I don't think you will regret it.

We have a full and I am pushing with all my might to move up to a king. My dh is reluctant to go up to a queen but this is one fight I will win. Go for it.

Never, never, never regretted having a king sized bed. Not even when paying the extra $ for sheets--it is so worth it. Like you, I am 5'10" and my husband is 6'2". Lots of room for long bodies and I like to move around. It also helps if you have a dog(s) who sleeps on the bed too

You will not regret your choice in a king size.

I love mine! I'm single, and I sleep right in the middle of my king bed!

When I was married, we had a double bed. It was fine until I got sick. I needed more room in the bed for equipment and specialty pillows. That's when we got the king bed.

I'm the only one, but I don't want a king mattress. When we go on vacation we sleep on a king and I feel so far away from my DH. I don't like it.

Yes, we LOVE our king!!!! We got it accidentally when they sent the wrong size and told us to keep it anyway! We had no idea how much we'd love it until we had one. Now I'd never want to go back smaller!

It does make a huge difference in our sleep because DH is twice my size in weight, so when he flops around I used to go bouncing! It's so nice to not even know when he rolls over now, so I sleep through the night.

No regrets!

we have a full and it is plenty of space. We are snugglers and end up right in the middle with plenty of room to spare.

Last weekend we stayed in a hotel with a king and it was SOOO much space! I wasn't comfortable and I think we both slept on one side of the bed all night! Haha

DH bought our bed when we were first married all by himself. I Sid get a queen, he said get a king. The only time I regretted it was every time we moved! DH was in the military so it was often. Other than that we love it. We always start out cuddled in the middle but have plenty of space to separate when we are sleeping. We sleep on a twin or full at my mom's when we visit and its awful!

a king size bed our first year of marriage and have never regretted it.

Both of us have insomnia issues from time to time and the king allows us the space to spread out, read, etc.

I don't think a king will be any longer, unless you sleep diagonally or get a California King (which has less width, but more length). A king is the equivalent of two twin size beds together, I though.

We LOVE our king. I can't imagine going back to a queen or *gasp* a double like we first started with I love that I have so much room to myself. I like being in my own country (lol, that's what I always said, too, hifi). With regards to trade relations, I like that I can leave the spoils of war in HIS country with plenty of border room.
