Friendly Letter "Student Chart"

Clip to ScrapBook #1

When I was student teaching, the teacher had a poster she had drawn of a student. There were lines coming from the student to label the different parts of a friendly letter, ex. The mouth was the greeting. But I can't remember the other parts. Does anyone have something like this? I thought it would be a great visual for my students on friendly letter format.

I am afraid I couldnot find a picture of somesort corresponding to your question. I never did anything like that in school, but it sounds like a great idea! Sorry I couldn't help

I would imagine the head would be heading, the body the body of the letter. Maybe the legs the closing and the shoes the signature?

Friendly Letter Lesson Plan etc

This is what I used.

Head = Heading
Hand = Greeting (shaking someone's hand to greet them)
Belt = Body
Foot = Closing (like you're going out the door)
Toe = Signature ( toe print)

I have attached the entire plan I used as well - it includes the template I used. Hope it helps.

Thanks, I derived that during an internship I did in an ESOL classroom. I also added 'actions' when I was teaching the parts of the body, and the children loved it!

During my practicum, my mentor teacher taught them this one:

top of the head was heading (they tapped their head)
mouth was greeting (they brought their hand to their mouths)
body was body (they tapped their body)
feet for closing (they stamped their feet)
