What am I supposed to get out of The Tiger King???? Iḿ in the first episode and I am just...um...confused. Is there a message? A good guy? A bad guy? Or does it just chronicle how weird these people are?

My ds 19 told me to watch and on episode 2 I would be hooked.......

I think your son is correct. There is much more than a guy that has tigers. There's another storyline that is interesting ad weird!!

My son also recommended I watch it. Not sure I want to...

My question: Does this guy/family legally own these tigers? How is that possible unless it's a sanctuary of some sort.

(I live in CO and the https://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org is near and dear to my heart). This guy has dedicated his entire adult life to rescuing animals held in captivity by humans. So, when I started hearing about Tiger King, the sanctuary came to mind.

I agree with Sprite's bottom line . And I've decided I can't can't continue. It was interesting at first. But as the episodes go on, I can hardly stomach the weirdness anymore. I personally need to find something light and fun to help with these depressing times.

That's the bottom line. A type of (non-sexual) voyeurism with a murder mystery thrown in for good measure.

I'm very conflicted about watching it but also totally hooked and completely disturbed.

Not for me either. I read all the praise for it here last week and watched Episode 1. Not for me, but then yesterday there was another thread about how marvelously engaging it is, so I watched Episode 2. Today you’re back with the love I find mystifying. Not my kind of entertainment. I don’t mind weird, but I do need a story. Just me.

I've read a lot about it and want to watch it but I don't have Netflix.

I binge watched it earlier in the week— it was like watching a train wreck... I just couldn’t stop.

Also, I remember the husband going missing when I was younger as I grew up close to their “zoo” in Florida.

We watched all of the episodes last night. We couldn’t stop because it was so bizarre!

They mentioned the situation that happened in Zanesville, Ohio. I remember all of that happening. I live about 3 hours away from there, so I was quite fascinated/horrified by it.

Today I read a GQ article online about the Zanesville incident. The owner of those animals reminded me of Joe on Tiger King. They both have/had an attitude that they were above the law. There were other similarities, but I don’t want to spoil things for people who haven’t watched Tiger King.
