DH says he WILL wear a mask to work.

When he works at Chick Fil a, he usually has been directing traffic since they are only doing drive-through or take-out. I never thought he would wear a mask. Today he said he will wear one. I saw online that you can use vacuum cleaner bags covered in fabric to make them a little stronger against the virus getting in. I really don't know if thatís true, or if itís more empty talk, but Iím going to see if I can make a few masks. Does anybody have any other good ideas for masks?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered these so the virus can'''t get in my eyes as well as my mouth and nose. But still may wear a mask as well.

A vacuum cleaner bag does not give enough oxygen to the user. Look for the no sew face mask using a cotton blend tshirt. I shared a link yesterday.

I was just watching a news story about homemade masks. Like the pp said, they said vacuum cleaner bags aren't actually a good choice because they don't allow you to breathe well enough through them.

Home-made masks

I found a pattern that I like. I happen to have fabric from sheets leftover from making my own weighted blanket covers. So, I'm using different sheets for the outside and inside. The first one I made, I also used fusible interfacing on one layer. Once made, I wore it almost an hour and I was having a LOT of trouble breathing. It just didn't allow the air through. I've just been using the two layers of sheet fabric (cotton) for mine. Rather than elastic (since I didn't have any of the very thin kind), I chose a pattern where I cut a 1 3/4" wide strip 41" long, folded in half (pressed), opened and folded each edge toward the center (not quite) and pressed, then folded in half again. It's non-bias tape. I binds the top and bottom edges and also serves as ties.

I just made this one using a few YouTube videos and picking and choosing design ideas. I sent a pick to my friend who is requesting them for her ambulance crew.
