What do ya all think?

I did my first Google Meet the other day.... yay. So the meet ended and I went back in about 30 minutes later and there were students in there chatting. Yes they need some kind of communication with each other. But my question is ...... if something were to happen.... inappropriate topics or other anything, are we as teachers liable since we set up the original meet? The link is good for 90 days so who is to responsible here?

We were told to make sure we were the last ones out of Google Meet and to delete the link after we are done.

that Google is aware of this problem and were going to fix it somehow. Guess they haven't yet.

We were told last week that Google is aware of this issue and is working on a way to correct it. For now, we were told to make sure we were the last one out of a Meet and to delete the link we posted.

We are only allowed to use zoom for that reason. When the host ends the meeting, nobody can get back in. We were originally trained on google and it's a bit easier to schedule with, IMO (if you use google calendar) so many of us wanted to just keep using that. Then district made us switch to zoom because of this issue- they said we would be liable if something inappropriate happened in the meet we set up.

I had the same problem last week. Once you delete the event, it is still accessible via the email invitation, but no one can join unless the host invites them in the meeting.

We just received email from doe that we are not allowed to use Zoom or Meet becausse of security issues. We have to switch to Microsort teams. I'm so done I could cry. I don't know how to do this stuff!!

I don't know if this helps, but our meets are set up so that the kids can only go in there if the person who organized the meet is in there too. So when you leave the meet, it closes for everyone.

Maybe your IT department can set that up?
