CRAFT Menu -5th Grade

I posted this is cafe for upper elem., but thought I would share it here as well..The CRAFT menu was created by a colleague and myself after much investigation of the CAFE/Daily 5 on pinterest. One post, the ladybug teacher files, sparked ideas that we thought were more appropriate for 5th grade. The part we like the most was R=respond to text. At this level this is such a key element! We took the common core & our state standards & created a menu that we feel will meet the needs of our kids (and our state). This is a work in progress and would love to hear any ideas/recommendations you have!

I found this thread and it has really given me some new thoughts. Do you still use any of the Daily Five for Dummies to review at the beginning of the year? I am concerned that my students will have forgotten some of the other strategies. Or are they really not needed at this age?

Hello, I am very excited about implementing this in my 5th grade ELA classroom this upcoming school year, but have found little on implementing this in the upper grades on the internet. Any suggestions, ideas, personal experiences...etc. Thanks in advance
