I had a lazy parenting moment and let DS use my laptop. He changed a bunch of settings and installed some crap (already dealt with him). Now I am stuck with a search bar at the top of my desktop. It has icons for chrome, explorer, facebook, etc. I can not figure out how to get rid of it and I DO NOT want it on here! Any ideas?

Right click on any empty space on that search bar. Hopefully a drop-down menu will appear and you can experiment with unclicking some of the choices.

Another option. Type "remove program" in the search box. Click on "apps and features". That will give you a list of all the removable programs. See if anything on that list doesn't belong.

I bet he downloaded a game and inadvertently downloaded a toolbar along with it. They sneak them into downloads, especially google toolbar.

Yep. That's what I figured, too.
Thanks for the suggestions. No luck yet

SUCCESS!

They were sneaking with the program name. I finally found it and uninstalled the stupid thing.
