Help needed finding a book

This may not be the right board to post this. Years ago I remember a cute story that was probably in our basal readers. The story was about a group of mice. The mice were concerned about a large cat living nearby. The mice have a meeting and decide they need to put a bell on the cat, so they can hear when the cat is coming. The only problem is none of the mice are willing to try to put the bell on the cat. If this story is from a book, can anyone tell me the name of the book?

There are many versions of this story. Here is one book on Amazon, but there are many others. Type bell on cat in amazon book search for others.

It is known as "Bell and the Cat", "Belling the Cat", and "Mice Council", and probably other names. It is sometimes attributed to Aesop, but I've heard that is incorrect. You can find versions on Amazon, probably Ebay as well, and I'm sure there would be some videos on Youtube.

I probably taught from that basal! Could it be Patricia C. McKissack's "Who Will Bell the Cat?"

I read this to my class from Aesops Fables. I loved reading those stories to my class.

Thank you for your replies. I checked out some of the books on Amazon. The story is in a book of Aesops Fables .
