NO CLUE what to get DH...any ideas???

So I have NO idea what to get my hubby for Christmas! Since we are moving to Hawaii in June we don't want to get anything for each other big that we have to move. It just doesn't make sense.

I found at Barnes and Noble this recipe holder that is stands up. It holds 70 recipes. Since he loves to cook, I thought that would be a nice gift.

I was going to write down his personal hygiene items and buy it for him. Put it in a stocking. Maybe a GNC gift card since he spends a TON of money there each month.

Any other ideas?

Mr. Bookgeek and I are swapping stockings because we're buying a big gift for the house. He's getting:
a stylus for his smart phone
a Dr. Who Christmas ornament
chocolate- the good stuff
a DVD of his fave Christmas movie
a magazine subscription-I'm rolling a copy of the mag, tying it with a bow, and putting it in his stocking

I read a study that said that people get more joy out of a gift that is an experience vs. a physical gift. Could you get tickets for a sporting event/concert/play that he would enjoy?

Make up a gift certificate for a massage (from you, not professional) at a time of his choosing. If you wanted, you could also include a bottle of massage oil.

I agree with experiences. I would look for a cooking lesson or a unique dining evening. Where I am local restaurants often do special menus with pairings, tasting menu nights, etc.

Or get him an Aloha shirt, macadamia nuts, pineapple or other things that reference the adventure ahead.

Mine doesn't really drink hard liquor much, but I got him a flask one year for his birthday and he LOVES it! He got a big kick out of it, and uses it maybe 3-4 times a year

I think we are just doing stockings. We have some things we are saving for for the house.. And I would rather spend the money on my kids

He is getting: Dark Knight DVD, Ted DVD, a bottle opener, personal hygiene stuff, small bottles of alcohol, chocolate, gum, maybe a new pair of gloves.

How about prepaying for something in Hawaii? Surf Lesson, snorkel trip, something like that?
