canceling assignments

How does the school react to a sub's canceling an assignment with less than two days's notice? I had a family issue and I had to cancel, and also leave early once. I haven't gotten any assignments from that High School since Up until then I'd gotten along great. Thanks for your input.

It's okay to cancel BUT... Sometimes, some schools are too busy to notice or care. If the system you're on is automated and you canceled a couple of days prior, someone should've picked up.

Emergencies come up; don't worry about it. AESOP lets me select 'emergency' or other; the system only marks a cancellation as a 'non-workday' if I cancel within 24 hours.

If you're really concerned talk to the sub coordinate at that school.

You do it at the last minute. Like 5am on the morning of your assignment.

Otherwise, the job just goes back into Aesop I assume.

I had a job scheduled for today that I had to cancel on Wednesday. The job came back on Aesop and was gone 10 minutes later.

The schools U work at are too busy to notice, unless it is morning of and goes unfilled.

Not a bit of a problem....unless it's the day of---that' the only time I avoid it. I've only canceling on the day of because my kid got sick. Our district blocks you from seeing jobs for the rest of the day if you cancel a job the day of.

It is not much of an issue unless you do it more than a couple times.

I really would have liked to do it 10 minutes ago.

I worked in a Kinder class today, which I don't mind in this one district since the kids get out a 1 PM.

The office called me and asked if i was available to take the class again tomorrow, and I was happy to oblige.

Now i get home and discover that my first $192 job of the year was available at another district, and I wil instead be getting $140.

Son of a ______! Unfortunately, we cannot predict the future.

Had I picked the job up on line instead of being asked directly to take the job, I would have cancelled for the extra $52
