What is your favorite Art lesson for the first week? I am moving to third grade and would appreciate any ideas, files etc.

I do a name glyph in 6th grade art. I tell them the first day that I grade on neatness, effort, creativity, and following the requirements. Then when we go through the process I stress the four parts of grading and encourage them to use the requirements but be creative. They draw their name in some form of bubble/block/graffiti manner and fill in the letters according to my requirements. Most of the requirements are the same as this link:

It is a great way to find out where their levels are.

Apple Pop Art! It comes out beautifully and we used real apples for our prints...Im searching for the directions and Ill send them to you as soon as I can locate them!
