Does anyone have a pacing chart that I can look at as a guide to plan out my year in third grade? My district seemed as though they wanted to go towards 6 traits but have dropped the ball again!!! I would love to do it on my own and have read a few books on the subject. I would love to have a guide or a skeleton outline to go buy that wasy I can form my lessons for the eyar now when I have time. I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks!!!

sounds like the book you need. Go down a couple of posts and look at the thread about it. There is a link that takes you to a site where you can read the book online.

I just finished making a chart with 15 lesson plans to start off 6-Traits with my 5th graders. I posted it on the 5th grade board, but I'm going to post it here, too, with the hope that someone here may find it interesting and even useful.

Also, scroll all the way down (bottom of p.1 or top of p.2) and read "Anyone ready to discuss 6+1 Traits?" There are spreadsheet documents you may find useful.

I want to thank you for posting this first few weeks of 6 traits. I was struggling with how to fit this into a concise document for unit plans. This defiinitely does the trick. I inserted a page above it and created a table to add the objectives. I made some modifications to fit third graders, but it was fantastic. Thanks for taking the time to mentor us newbies!
