Double Trouble in Walla Walla is fun because of the word choice. Can be a bit of a tongue twister.
Round Trip by Ann Jonas is great because of the pictures. You read the book forwards and then backwards so it makes a circle, like a round trip. The pictures are all back and white and work both ways, right side up and upside down. It is a very short story though.
The Mary Celeste: An Unsolved Mystery From History is a great read aloud. It is a true story about a crew and its passengers who disappeared. The mystery has never been solved to my knowledge.
Dog Zilla and Kat Kong are great fun because of the play on words. You can probably read both.
