I'm going to withhold my opinion and ask how this program is received in your school. For those of you unfamiliar with it, please listen to the responses, for better or worse. I'll be back in a few days to give my opinion of it.

When I first started teaching 20 years ago, I was sent to a workshop headed by John Collins himself. It was entertaining and I learned quite a bit about his program. One way it was good is it allowed teachers to focus on just three areas of correction for grading purposes. One thing I didn't like was that when kids were focusing on the FCA's everything else went out the window. This program was tanked after 3 years of using it in my district. It didn't make better writers in my opinion. again, this was wayyyy before ccss came into the picture! We can't teach like this now!
