Clip to ScrapBook #1

My school is offering a classroom camera for teachers to use so students can stay home and learn virtually. I see the benefits for reg ed to use one but I work 1:1 or in small groups...so not sure. I feel if a family chooses to keep their child home...they will zoom with me for sped services.

The technology I am interested in getting is a doc camera. Since we will be required to teach at school virtually...and all my materials are at school...I could use a doc cam to share reading and math instruction with students who may not have materials or who choose not to get their materials.

Have any of you folks used a doc cam? Any suggestions for a specific brand or model? Thanks!

Arenít a doc camera and a classroom camera the same thing?

Iíve taught gen ed and sped and Iíll say I donít think I could teach without a document camera. I use it everyday (more in gen ed, but also in sped). I donít have a specific recommendation. Iíve used quite a few in different buildings and districts and liked them all. As long as they can zoom in and out, Iím happy.

No...the classroom camera actually will be pointed at me or whatever I want it to point at and kids at home will be able to be a part of instruction virtually. The doc cam , as you know, is projecting a document to class or can be used virtually.
