Hello. I am currently an elementary school teacher and I am interested in getting my Masters in School Psychology and was wondering if there was anyone who is enrolled in a NASP approved online program or knows of any.

Due to family related reasons; I need to complete the masters program online. Hybrid is okay (I live in the bay area).

I am under the impression that there are no online NASP-approved programs. You may have already seen the list on the NASP site, but in case you haven't it's here: https://www.nasponline.org/standards...roved-programs I haven't looked through in depth, but maybe some of the programs offer a hybrid option. There are a number of practicum courses involved (and of course the 1200 hr internship) and NASP's standards are harder to ensure if someone does an online program. But maybe there are some that offer both online and brick and mortar? I only know of eeza and I who are school psychs on PT, but I'd love if there are others who came out of the woodwork!

Hey Pinacolada (and Gracekrispy),

I live in the Bay Area too! I went to Chapman University in Walnut Creek (now called Brandman). It was a few nights a week and I had one online class. Technically that would be called hybrid, but I don't think that would could in your eyes. There may be more online work now though.

I mostly had good professors (around 2010) and learned a lot. I felt prepared for my first school psych job. It wasn't NASP approved though. The campus in Irvine is, but not the WC campus.

eta: weird, it's not on the NASP approved list. Did you find that out from NASP's site or somewhere else? I found a link about it being approved conditionally through 2011, but I don't see it on the current NASP list? I also saw a site where someone was asking if they had any legal recourse because Capella lost its NASP accreditation before he graduated.

I am going to Capella right now for a PHD in Ed Leadership.

I will say it is one of the better online colleges. I graduated from Uni of Phoenix, and they are 100% sales and trying to get your to get more and more.

Capella is also easy to manage, and I believe the school psych program just went Flexpath, meaning you can take as many classes at one time for one fee.
