Keep doing the extended lesson plan formats.
Also, keep 'summaries' in a planbook. If you teach elementary I suggest one with an area for each subject on each day of the week.
If you teach middle school/high school, a looser one would be good, such as so many blank blocks per day.

This is the form I used (in elementary s.t.). I kept them punched and in a binder so that it was a quick reference, but also used extended lesson plans. Again, it just helped me along until I felt I could do it without them. Then I switched completely to the binder probably about halfway through.
