Well, I had my student teacher a week, and I now understand the frustration that some CTs have had with their student teachers. I have had student teachers in the past, and they were all wonderful. Now I've got a slacker on my hands. He is lazy, comes in late, did not show up for the initial visit two weeks ago, and I found out he straightout lied about a previous student placement. He is in his late 30s but acts like an irresponsible teenager. He still lives with his parents, and has never had a job before. His parents are retired educators who told him he should give teaching a try since he didn't know what he wanted to do with his life.

(remember the saying, "those that can't, teach.")
There were red flags the first day he showed up, and my bad impressions were confirmed by his supervisor who said they had already reprimanded him verbally and in writing about his lack of professionalism. I think today may have been his last day, since he came in late again and did not have anything prepared for teaching

. I reported it to the supervisor, who had been waiting for this.
At first I felt bad for him, but after the blatant lies and omissions, I realized he needs to go into politics.
