Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello!

I am looking for daily edits that can be used during morning work. I want to start out with 1 or 2 sentences and move onto paragraphs.
Anyone have any websites or good books they have used?

thanks

Have a look at these animal topics for editing practice for primary grades. You could copy one or two of the sentences to begin with. You can print or show them on a Smartboard. Answers provided too.

For the more able and the older student, try the month-related paragraphs, 'Everyday Edits'. There are about 20 topics per month for daily practice.

I choose a topic, open this and then go to the 'printable version' and show this pdf on the Smartboard. This way, children can't see the answers. Then I use the back arrow to go back a page to the answers for correcting.

This book allows the teacher to write a sentence on the board, and the students correct it in their writing books. the sentence is the first of a story and the story continues for about 100 days, if you do one sentence at a time. It also contains vocabulary words. But the fun part takes place as they are correcting. You go around and say "Caught'Ya" if you see a mistake in their sentence. They try really hard not to get caught. It is really fun for most of my students. They always remind me to do the Cuaght'Ya.

Daily Language Review

I use Daily Language Review published by Evan Moore... There are 2 sentences to edit as well as 3 other things each day. I teach the kids editing marks and they have to use them to correct the sentence and then write it correctly on the line given. I know they have a book with paragraphs as well.
