It's that I am so very thankful that I don't have a job where I have to sit at the computer all day!

What have you learned?

1) Iím glad I have a job that will pay me through this.

2) Iím glad I switched districts when I did. If I worked for my old district Iíd be having a nervous breakdown due to lack of communication.

3) Iím glad I LOVE staying home.

I have learned that I am so lucky not to have a job that requires me to continue to go into work and potentially work or lose pay or sick days.

I am also lucky that I ended up in a district which is paying its teaching assistants.

I have learned that I'm very happy I'm retired! And to always keep more TP around than you think you need!

I learned that I can easily waste a lot of time, and I am not an early bird like I thought I was. And I already knew it, but you could say I relearned that health and family are the most important things.

I've always said I would hate working from home- I have a lot of friends who do it and like it. This has totally reaffirmed that. It's all of the work and none of the fun!

Also I'm not sure I can ever let myself get low on food, TP, etc. after this. I usually try to eat everything I have in the house before going to the store again, because then I just eat the stuff I like best and end up wasting the other stuff. Not sure I'll be able to have the mindset of having almost no food in the house after this though...

I've learned that my days are completely full! I'm so busy now! I've got crafting, gardening, walking, online yoga, online museums and galleries, phone calls with family and friends, dinners to plan--I'm swamped!

I've learned that I actually CAN home school my own children. I've always jokingly said there was no way I would ever want to teach my own kids. But, we survived week one and I actually enjoyed it.

I've learned that I'm a person that needs to get up, get dressed, and have some type of "schedule". Even when we are staying home all day. I just feel better all around when I have some structure in my day.

I've learned that I work with an absolutely amazing group of teachers and staff who can pull together and do incredible things with very little notice.

I'm thankful that I have a job that pays me to work from home.

I've realized how much we like chicken, because we can't find any to buy.

I've learned that "add to cart" is way too easy!

I have learned a few of the Things mentioned above and additionally I have learned:

-I have always said at if I didn't work as much my house would be spotless. Yeah turns out that isn't true.

-I am not the homebody I thought I was

-my districts lack of technology is a bigger problem than I thought. I have complained long and loud about our pitiful tech resources compared to surrounding districts but when push comes to shove it's actually a bigger problem than I thought 4-1 technology is a huge problem and I hope they finally get properly prepared after this.

-Turns out I am not a fan of my governor in my state. I thought I was ambivalent but I actually find him to b a bad actor when I look closely and am hanging on his every word. I won't be voting for him next time if I can help it.

Here is what I've learned . . .
  • my introvert personality is perfectly suited to this
  • my sale shopper/stockpiler tendencies are handy because I needed few things from the store
  • I couldn't have a desk job.
  • I'd have carpal tunnel if I had to work on a computer all day.
  • the dogs love having their people home all day
  • DH and I have very different online teaching styles.
  • teaching in pajamas is awesome

What I've learned

*I actually can survive without fast food (this is a lesson I expect to forget immediately upon release )

*It's ok to watch a movie in the middle of the day

*Dinner doesn't have to be a big production, sandwiches and fruit works just fine

*I will never again take for granted the freedom to come and go as I wish

*I will always have an extra pack of Costco tp

I have learned that many of those projects I said I didn't have time for are really just projects I don't want to do. I have all this time and no motivation at all to clean closets or organize cabinets.
