Benefits of being over 65:

The guy at the liquor store didn't question or card me when I purchased a bottle of sherry.

The weight loss advice I received is that there is no health benefit for me to lose weight! Now, that doesn't mean that 75% of my wardrobe fits or that I would look better. Just no health benefit, so no doctor can chastise me to lose weight (I'm still in the overweight range."

I qualify for Silver Sneakers with my supplemental insurance, so I belong to 4 gyms free! One gym has great machines, another I use for a yoga class I like, another for their great indoor and outdoor pool, and another, even though it is tiny, is only about 3 minutes from home. Now, if I used these faithfully I'd be in great shape! It's easier to procrastinate over 65, too!

Having seen my older (80s) relatives shrink in size and have trouble keeping weight on, I've decided that a few extra pounds at this point is probably not a bad thing.

Good addition of Silver Sneakers. Others may not know that you don't have to commit to just one facility. I thought that we had to, but no! You can go to a different SS place every day of the week!

Another one (and I'm surprised I play this card so readily): Oh, sorry, I'm 66, I just couldn't do that. Amazing how quick people are to help me.

Amiga13 - you made me laugh! I so love that. I'm only 63 but I've pulled it a few times myself!!
